Every time anonymous does stuff like this I realize how much of a piece of shit organization it is. Although I realize they are trying to uphold freedom of speech for all this simply isnt the path that should be taken and considering Megaupload was shutdown not primarily because of content it hosted but also because of them encouraging users to post copyrighted material and money laundering they surely arent fighting for the right outlet. Hopefully this is all bull cuz if it actually happens it only gives congress more ammunition to possibly censor the internet.
On the heels of their largest co-ordinated attack this past week in which Anonymous attacked numerous government and industry websites in response to the government shutdown of Megaupload they posted a video titled ” Anonymous message to Congress” claiming there is more in store. Their ultimatum being if Megaupload is not reinstated within the next 72 hours that they will launch an onslaught attack on the servers of The United Nations, XBOX Live, Playstation Network, US Bank, Capital Bank, Chase One, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
Anonymous goes as far as to claim they hold the account info of every client at these banks but reassure said clients that they will not compromise their information, their only goal being making a statement to Congress.
It will be interesting to see if this attack by Anonymous will actually come to fruition as some previous threats of attack have fallen through on their part.
